Several firebombs were thrown at the fence of the town of Har Adar Tuesday afternoon.

The Molotov cocktails set off a brush fire, but did not endanger any homes in the town, just west of Jerusalem, which straddles the pre-1967 Green Line. No injuries or damage were reported.

Firefighters were at the scene to extinguish the flames.

Tuesday’s incident was the latest in an uptick in violence coinciding with the Jewish New Year, which began Sunday night.

Clashes between police and Palestinian protesters on the Temple Mount have left several injured after three consecutive days of skirmishes. Several stone-throwing attacks left several injured and one dead in the incidents across the city.

In response, the Israel Police has reinforced its presence across the capital.
