Jerusalem club, Eilat restaurant burned down in suspected arson attacks

A Jerusalem nightclub and an Eilat restaurant went up in flames early Saturday in two unrelated cases of suspected arson.

The Haoman Street nightclub in the capital was damaged in the fire, that was put out by firefighting teams called to the scene. Investigators said large quantities of flamable liquid had been poured inside the club, and were looking into the incident.

Apolice spokesman told Ynet news that the damage was estimated to be in the hundreds of thousands of shekels.

In the southern city of Eilat, polie arrested a suspect after the Eddie’s Hide-Away restaurant was burned down.

The restaurant had been acitve for 37 years and was known as one of the oldest in the city.

Also Saturday, fire erupted in the Tel Aviv home of celebrity chef Rafi Cohen. Firefighters put out the flames. No one was in the house at the time of the fire.
