A Kassam rocket launched from Gaza landed in the Eshkol region of the western Negev Monday afternoon.

The rocket landed in an open area and no damage or injuries were reported.

Rocket fire from Gaza has become sporadic in the last several weeks after a round of fighting ended in mid-June. Hamas, which rules the strip, says it cannot control splinter groups shooting the rockets.

Also Monday afternoon, a Molotov cocktail was thrown by Palestinians at an Israeli Border Police patrol car near Beit Hagai in the West Bank.

No injuries were reported, though the vehicle suffered some damage.
