The Palestinian Authority on Monday handed over a Palestinian man suspected of killing an Israeli cyclist in a hit-and-run accident earlier in the day.
The 25-year-old man was suspected of hitting Gavriel Lerner, 47, of Karkur with his car near the northern town of Harish. The suspect then fled into the West Bank and turned himself in to the Palestinian police.

According to testimony he provided Israel Police, he returned to the scene of the accident after he believed he had struck something, but did not discern a bicycle in the road.
After the investigation the suspect will be returned to the Palestinian Authority pending charges. Should he be charged, the suspect will likely stand trial in Israel, Israel Radio reported.
