A rocket fired from the Gaza Strip Monday night exploded in the Hof Ashkelon area of southern Israel. No injuries or damage were reported.

Earlier on Monday a red alert sounded in the Hof Ashkelon Regional Council after a rocket launched from within Gazan territory was detected. No injuries or damage were reported in the earlier rocket attack.

There have been 33 rocket attacks on Israeli towns and territory from the Hamas-controlled territory since the beginning of 2014, the IDF noted on Sunday.
