Two killed by moving train

Victims, in their 20s, apparently killed after walking on tracks after night out at club

Two people in their 20s were killed early Friday morning after being hit by a freight train, paramedics said.

The two were found dead on the tracks near the Emek Hefer industrial zone. Paramedics called to the scene confirmed the deaths.

The two were walking near the track with a group of friends after spending the night at a nearby club, according to Ynet news. The friends found the two on the side of the tracks after noticing they had disappeared.

An eyewitness told the news outlet that the train did not stop, likely because the driver did not realize the train had hit anything.

In June, a soldier was killed after falling off a moving train he hopped on to retrieve a bag he’d left behind.
