Four policemen were injured in a stabbing attack Wednesday at a police station in Jerusalem’s Armon Hanatziv neighborhood.

Police said the attacker arrived at the entrance to the police station and attacked three officers, lightly injuring them. He was shot and seriously injured.

During the scuffle a fourth officer was lightly hurt by shrapnel as others shot at the attacker.

The attacker was restrained by officers on the scene, according to police.

They said the attacker was arrested and security was being heightened in the area.

Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said officers were searching the nearby area to ensure there were no other persons involved in the attack.

The Armon Hanatziv neighborhood, some of which is in former no-man’s land between East and West Jerusalem, has been the scene of several attacks in past years, including during a wave of stabbings in 2015 and 2016.

In January 2017, a Palestinian driver rammed his truck into a group of soldiers visiting a popular promenade in the neighborhood, killing four.
