Eight injured in Sea of Galilee boat collision

Initial reports indicate tour boat anchored 500 meters off coast without docking lights

Eight people were lightly injured when a speedboat collided with a tour boat on the Sea of Galilee on Monday. The injured were all brought to Poriya Hospital in Tiberias.

According to Walla News, an initial investigation revealed that the tour boat was anchored 500 meters (1,640 feet) from the coast, but without using docking lights as required by law.

The tour boat operator was detained by the police for questioning and later released. The investigation has been transferred to the Shipping and Ports Authority of the Ministry of Transportation.
