Daily Briefing Nov. 25 – What’s the latest plan for recycling bottles?

Environmental correspondent Sue Surkes unpacks Israel’s new bottle recycling system and maritime plans, while reporter Emanuel Fabian discusses disturbing sexual abuse allegations

Welcome to The Times of Israel’s Daily Briefing, your 15-minute audio update on what’s happening in Israel, the Middle East, and the Jewish world, from Sunday through Thursday.

Environmental correspondent Sue Surkes and reporter Emanuel Fabian join host Jessica Steinberg.

Fabian discusses two disturbing stories, one involving the possible “pimping” of female soldiers in the Gilboa prison, and the other about an IDF officer who secretly filmed female officers under his command.

The only positive result of the claims, comments Fabian, are that the alleged incidents have been revealed, with the alleged perpetrators more likely to be brought to justice.

Surkes reports on bottle recycling plans throughout Israel once anew law goes into effect on December 1, although the new recycling machines aren’t in place yet.

She also talks about the discussions that took place at a maritime conference attended by various companies and institutions active on the Mediterranean Sea.

Discussed articles include:
