Security and rescue forces launched a two-day exercise in the Golan Heights on Tuesday.
Residents were warned to expect increased movement of emergency forces and military vehicles in the area as well as the sound of gunfire and explosives.
The IDF emphasized that the exercise was a component of its annual cycle of training programs, designed to “maintain competence and readiness of emergency services.”
Although the drill was talking place not far from the Israel-Syria border, the IDF said it was not related to current events in neighboring Syria.
