Five injured in blast at Bnei Brak event hall, apparently due to firecracker

Medics evacuate three lightly and two moderately hurt men in their 20s to local hospitals

Five people were injured in a blast at a banquet hall in Bnei Brak, officials said on Wednesday evening.

Medics who arrived at the scene began treating three men who were lightly injured and two others who were moderately hurt.

The group, all in their 20s, were evacuated for further treatment to Ichilov Medical Center in Tel Aviv and Rabin Medical Center in Petah Tikva.

According to police, the blast was suspected to have been caused by a firecracker.

One eyewitness told Ynet the firecracker was being held by a reveler when it exploded.
