There’s a brand-new hot dog out there for those with a taste for sexual innuendoes and political satire.
You may have gagged on coverage of New York City mayoral candidate Anthony Weiner’s sexually suggestive social media habit, but that doesn’t necessarily mean you won’t want to chomp down on some Carlos Danger Weiners.
The hot dogs are named for the former congressman’s infamous Twitter handle, but we all know the Weiner (and wiener) they make fun of.
The new brand is the brainchild of Randall Richards, a Florida marketing exec who is partnering with Thrushwood Farms Quality Meats of Illinois to bring us these double-size hot dogs. The company’s website claims they are “The World’s most delicious dogs with mocking salacious fun!”
“This is something that’s too good of an opportunity to pass up. It’s a great American dream to make money off a stupid political gaffe,” Richards told ABC News.
Based on the extremely punny (or is that puny?) language on the company’s website, it’s clear that although Richards hopes to take a bite out of the US hot dog market, he isn’t taking himself too seriously.
“Our dogs are seriously good (no kidding) so share the Carlos Danger Weiners with all your friends,” customers are encouraged. “Or, you can take a picture of yourself with your Carlos Danger Weiner and send it out to your friends, or even people you don’t know at all!”
