18 dead as migrant boat sinks off Turkey
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleAt least 18 migrants die after their boat capsizes in the Aegean Sea while trying to cross from Turkey to Greece, according to a Turkish official.
The Turkish coastguard rescued 15 migrants from the boat off the coastal town of Didim in southwest Turkey, the official tells AFP, speaking on condition of anonymity.
The nationality of the migrants is not immediately known.
The coastguard, backed up by three boats and a helicopter, is hunting for the missing, according to the state-run Anatolia news agency.
