Abbas at UN: Settlements destroying two-state solution
Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas calls for an end to the “humiliating” checkpoints in the West Bank and for the blockade on the Gaza Strip to be lifted.
Addressing the UN General Assembly, Abbas says that “racist, terrorist, colonial settlement” is destroying the two-state solution. He cites former prime minister Yitzhak Rabin, who in 1976 called the settlements a “cancer.”
