Air France plane lands in Iran for first time in 8 years
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleAn Air France passenger plane lands in Tehran international airport, marking the resumption of Paris-Tehran flights suspended in 2008.
The resumption of flights follows a landmark nuclear deal reached with world powers that went into effect in January.
French Transport Minister Alain Vidalies and 15 representatives from French businesses are among the passengers on the plane.
Air France will fly to Iran three times a week. German carrier Lufthansa and Austrian Airlines also run several flights a week connecting Iran and Europe.
