Airlines must implement UK laptop ban by Saturday

Airlines impacted by Britain’s cabin ban on electronic devices on flights from some Middle East and North African countries have until 0001 GMT Saturday to implement the measure, officials say.

But passengers “should go to the airport with the expectation that the measures are already in effect,” a transport ministry spokeswoman says.

Britain followed the US in imposing the ban on all electronics larger than a cellphone. Israel is not affected.
