Ayalon Highway reopens after suspicious car cleared

The Ayalon Highway has been reopened to traffic, with police saying the suspicious car they had detained earlier does not pose a security risk.

Officials say three Palestinian Gaza residents were in the vehicle. It is not clear whether the three had permits to be in Israel.

An eyewitness who works at a Tel Aviv office overlooking the highway tells Ynet: “Policemen undressed (a man) and two women who were inside the vehicle. A police sapper arrived at the scene and all north-bound lanes were closed off.”
