From Celebrity rabbi stays in jail after court halts early release
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleLod District Court upholds an appeal by the prosecutor against a decision to grant early release to a so-called rabbi to the stars, who is serving a sentence for bribery.
The appeal came after the parole board granted Rabbi Yoshiyahu Yosef Pinto early release, seven months into his year-long term, on the grounds of ill health.
Pinto, who has an international following among celebrities and business leaders as well as high-powered contacts in the Israeli government, is serving his sentence in the medical center of Ramle’s Nitzan Prison.
