Liberman says ‘no Iranian military force on Syrian soil’
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleDefense Minister Avigdor Liberman says there is no physical Iranian presence on Syrian soil, in an apparent contradiction to repeated warnings by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over recent weeks that the Iranians are establishing a foothold in the country.
“It’s correct that there are some Iranian advisers and experts [in Syria],” Lieberman tells the Ynet news site. “But there is no Iranian military force on Syrian soil.”
“All the actors in the region know that we are the strongest power in our area,” he says. “Israel is a regional power.”
