FBI says Minnesota stabbing ‘potential terror act’
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleThe FBI says it is investigating the Minnesota stabbing spree as a potential terror attack.
“We are currently investigating this as a potential act of terrorism,” says the FBI’s Richard Thornton.
Thornton adds that there is still “a lot we don’t know” about any possible international link to the assailant.
In the wake of the attack, which left nine people wounded, security has been ramped up at other malls in Minnesota, including the sprawling Mall of America, the largest mall in the country, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune.
Three of the victims remain hospitalized, according to the Star Tribune.
