Six Thai workers hurt in blast from old munition in Metula

Six Thai workers are injured in a blast from an old explosive in an agricultural field in Metula, according to police and medics.

The injured were brought to Ziv Medical Center in Safed this morning, the hospital says.

Two people who were seriously injured and another who was moderately injured were admitted to the trauma room for initial medical treatment.

Three additional wounded are being treated in the Emergency Department.

Prof. Aviram Nissan, Director of the Surgical Department at the Ziv Medical Center, says that one of the wounded is in serious condition and is currently being treated in the operating room.

The other seriously injured person is currently undergoing imaging tests to assess his condition and continue treatment.

Police say they are investigating the incident.
