Hamas takes responsibility for last night’s rocket barrage on the southern coastal city of Ashdod.

In a statement, the terror group’s military wing says it targeted Ashdod “in response to the targeting of civilians.”

According to the IDF, five rockets were launched from northern Gaza in the attack, with four intercepted by air defenses and one hitting an open area.

No injuries were caused.

The attack came amid Yom Kippur, and as the Israeli Navy began to intercept the large flotilla attempting to break the Israeli maritime blockade on the Gaza Strip.
