Several hundred protesters gather at Times Square in New York City to protest against the strikes on Iran.

The demonstrators, from socialist and anti-Zionist activist groups, chant, “Hands off Iran now,” and link the attack on Iran to Israel’s campaign in Gaza.

“This attack on Iran comes in the context of this brutal, unending genocide that has been made possible and carried out by the US and Israel,” a speaker tells the crowd.

“We understand this war and this attack for what it is — an extension of this genocide and an aid to advance imperialist Zionist interests,” she says, to shouts of “shame” from the crowd.

Signs in the crowd say, “Defend Palestine,” “For Iran’s right to a nuclear deterrent,” “Free Iran from imperialism, theocracy,” and, “White men ruin everything.”

Several signs link the Iran strikes to Jeffrey Epstein. Other speakers and signs blame the conflict for health care issues and inequality in the US.
