Iran hints it may stop cooperating with UN nuclear agency
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleIran hints it may stop cooperating with the UN’s nuclear watchdog if the US withdraws from the 2015 agreement limiting Tehran’s nuclear program.
“If the United States does not meet its commitment in the JCPOA, the Islamic Republic of Iran would take decisions that might affect its current cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA),” the head of Iran’s nuclear agency Ali Akbar Salehi tells IAEA chief Yukiya Amano over the phone, according to Reuters.
Trump must decide by Friday whether to certify Iran’s compliance with the nuclear deal and in turn grant further sanctions relief.
