Israel becomes 1st country to sign joint declaration with US on artificial intelligence, PM’s Office says

Israel has become the first country to sign a joint declaration on artificial intelligence with the United States, the Prime Minister’s Office says in a statement.
The statement says the agreement is a continuation of the US’s Pax Silica Initiative to cooperate on supply chains for AI, which includes Israel, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates and Australia.
The Prime Minister’s Office says that Israel and the US will continue their partnership via “joint research, development, investment, and commercialization across a broad range of strategic sectors, including: artificial intelligence (AI), energy technologies and storage, advanced computing infrastructure, space, edge innovation, additive manufacturing, and semiconductors.”
According to the statement, the partnership “includes renewed focus on protection of sensitive technologies and supply chains, strengthening a secure and trusted environment for investment and collaboration.”
The Prime Minister’s Office says that US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee praised cooperation between the two nations on “the most important and challenging issues of our time – access to critical minerals, resilience of supply chains, the development of AI, quantum computing, and next generation technology that will benefit both America and Israel and fundamentally change the world.”
