Israel diagnoses first case of Zika virus
Israel diagnoses its first imported case of the Zika virus, in a 2-year-old girl who recently returned from Colombia. The diagnosis is made at the national center for virology at Sheba hospital in Tel Hashomer, near Tel Aviv.
The child is in good condition, and is sent home, the Maariv website says.
The Health Ministry is advising pregnant women to avoid traveling to areas where the virus is present, including the Caribbean, Puerto Rico and Haiti.
