Lebanon’s health ministry says that Israeli strikes in the south had wounded six people, after Israel said it had targeted facilities belonging to Hezbollah.
Lebanese President Joseph Aoun, however, insists Israel’s strikes targeted “civilian facilities,” and condemns what he says is a breach of a ceasefire negotiated last year.
“The repeated Israeli aggression comes as part of a systematic policy aimed at destroying productive infrastructure, hindering economic recovery, and undermining national stability under false security pretexts,” Aoun charges.
According to an initial toll from the Lebanese health ministry, the strikes earlier injured one person in Bnaafoul, in the Saida district, and wounded five in Ansar, in the Nabatieh district.
The IDF said earlier that it had targeted several Hezbollah facilities, as well as a site used by an environmental group known as “Green Without Borders,” which the IDF has previously exposed as a Hezbollah front for conducting clandestine activities along the Israel-Lebanon border.
