Netanyahu calls Israeli envoy over alleged mistreatment at airport
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GooglePrime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu speaks to Israel’s ambassador to Panama on the phone, after the diplomat said security personnel at Ben Gurion Airport delayed him and his family when they found out he was from an Arab village in the country’s north.
The prime minister’s call comes shortly after President Reuven Rivlin spoke to Reda Mansour, a member of the Druze community.
During their conversation, Netanyahu expressed “deep appreciation for the way he represents Israel in Panama,” the prime minister’s office says.
The Druze “are dear to our hearts and we will continue to work in every possible way to strengthen this covenant of brotherhood,” says Netanyahu.
