Israel “deeply regrets” the IDF strikes on Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis this morning, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office says in a statement, as international condemnation mounts over the attack, which killed 20 Palestinians, including five journalists, according to Hamas-controlled health authorities in the Strip.
“Israel deeply regrets the tragic mishap that occurred today at the Nasser Hospital in Gaza. Israel values the work of journalists, medical staff, and all civilians. The military authorities are conducting a thorough investigation,” reads the statement, which is only released in English. It is also tweeted by the premier’s account on X.
“Our war is with Hamas terrorists. Our just goals are defeating Hamas and bringing our hostages home,” the statement adds.
