Police say they have arrested two people on suspicion of involvement in extremist violence last night, when settlers rampaged through several Palestinian towns in the West Bank.
In a terse statement, police say the two suspects are undergoing interrogation and will be brought before a judge today, where officers will request to extend their remand.
The arrests come after assailants torched two mosques, a home and several vehicles overnight in the West Bank, scrawling graffiti calling to avenge the killing of Benayahu Mellet, a civilian security squad member from the Havat Gilad settlement, by a Palestinian during a violent clash Friday.
An IDF commander and four Palestinians were also killed during the gunfight, which broke out on the outskirts of Tell, a Palestinian village in the northern West Bank, after a group of settlers entered the area.
