Police confirm would-be stabber, 19, shot dead

Police confirm the would-be stabber at the Tapuah Junction was shot dead.

They say she was a 19-year-old resident of the West Bank town of Asira ash-Shamaliya.

In a statement, police say border policemen spotted the woman approaching the checkpoint and shot in the air while ordering her to halt. Police say the woman refused to stop and took out a knife. Police subsequently opened fire and killed her, the statement says.
