Public security minister: No warning ahead of Jerusalem shooting
Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan says there was no concrete warning ahead of this morning’s Jerusalem terror attack, but notes there had been a recent uptick in incitement to violence among Palestinians.
Speaking at the scene of the attack, which killed a female bystander and a police officer and left five Israelis injured, Erdan says the terrorist in the Jerusalem drive-by shooting attack held Israeli citizenship.
“In our assessments there were no warnings of a specific attack, but we assessed that because of the uptick in incitement levels, there will be incidents of lone terrorists,” he adds.
