Rocket sirens ring out near Gaza border

Emanuel (Mannie) Fabian is The Times of Israel's military correspondent

With less than half an hour before a ceasefire between Israel and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad is set to take effect, fresh rocket sirens sound in several towns close to the border with the Gaza Strip.

There are no immediate reports of injuries or damage in the latest attack.

The Sdot Negev Regional Council instructs residents to remain inside reinforced rooms or bomb shelters until further notice, given fear of further attacks.

The PIJ in a statement says it takes responsibility for the recent attacks on the south.
