Touring north, Netanyahu says anti-tunnel op ‘almost entirely behind us’
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GooglePrime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu tours the northern border, where Israeli troops are dismantling cross-border tunnels from Lebanon as part of Operation Northern Shield.
Netanyahu, who is also defense minister, and other security cabinet members receive a briefing on the security situation from the IDF chief of staff and the head of the Northern Command, according to a statement from Netanyahu’s office.
“This operation is almost entirely behind us,” says Netanyahu.
“There is exceptional work being carried out here that has disarmed the Hezbollah tunnels,” he says. “It [Hezbollah] invested heavily in it and we destroyed it.”
