‘Traffic is flowing’: US insists Strait of Hormuz is open to all after Iran claimed to close it
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleThe Strait of Hormuz is open to all vessels and US military forces are “positioned and prepared” to ensure freedom of navigation, US Central Command says, a day after US and Iranian forces exchanged fire and Iran said it had closed the vital waterway.
“Iran does not control the strait,” CENTCOM adds. “Traffic is flowing.”
Iran’s IRGC navy said yesterday that it had closed the Strait of Hormuz until further notice and until the end of US “interference” in the region.
