US President Donald Trump responds to the indictment of his former campaign manager, Paul Manafort, saying the charges dealt with events that happened before the 2016 election.
The US leader also insists that his campaign did not collude with Russia.
“Sorry, but this is years ago, before Paul Manafort was part of the Trump campaign. But why aren’t Crooked Hillary & the Dems the focus?????” Trump tweets.
A moment later, Trump adds, “….Also, there is NO COLLUSION!”
Earlier in the day, Manafort was indicted, along with a former business associate, Rick Gates, of conspiracy against the United States, acting as an unregistered foreign agent, and several other financial counts involving tens of millions of dollars routed through offshore accounts.
