UN condemns Israel’s ‘unlawful air strike’ in Tulkarem which killed 18

The United Nations condemns what it calls an “unlawful air strike” by Israel on the West Bank city of Tulkarem, which the Palestinian health ministry said killed 18 people the previous day.

“The strike is part of a highly concerning pattern of unlawful use of force by ISF (Israeli security forces) during military-like operations in the West Bank that have caused widespread harm to Palestinians and significant damage to buildings and infrastructure,” the United Nations rights office says in a statement.

The airstrike killed a Hamas commander who was planning a major terror attack on the first anniversary of the October 7 onslaught, military sources say.

The IDF says it has identified at least seven terror operatives among the dead in last night’s fighter jet strike in Tulkarem.
