US ‘in touch’ with Iraqi authorities over surrendered IS fighter
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleA State Department official, speaking on condition of anonymity to discuss the subject with the media, says US authorities are aware of the reports that a US citizen allegedly fighting for IS “has been captured by peshmerga forces in northern Iraq.”
“We are in touch with Iraqi and Kurdish authorities to determine the veracity of these reports. We have no further information to share at this time,” the official said.
