Man stabs, moderately wounds 9-year-old boy
Apparently mentally ill suspect arrested by police after incident in southern city of Beersheba

A man stabbed a nine-year-old boy multiple times Tuesday, as the boy waited for a schoolbus, causing him moderate injuries.
Magen David Adom paramedics, alerted to the scene on Tabenkin Street in the southern city of Beersheba, treated the boy to stop the bleeding and then took him to the Soroka Medical Center in the city.
The boy suffered wounds to his upper body, and the hospital said he was being treated in the children’s intensive care unit.
Police located and arrested the suspect, a resident of Beersheba in his 30s, who media reports said was apparently mentally ill.
