The Israel Postal Company will soon begin operating secured lockers where people will be able to pick up their packages at various locations around the country.
The state-owned company is often criticized for poor service to consumers, with long lines at service centers and letters arriving late or not at all.
“The lockers are another means that will give the customer a choice as to how to collect packages,” Israel Postal Company’s VP of marketing, Moran Kirshner-Goldberg, told Channel 12 news on Sunday.
“Today there are about 1,400 delivery points. And there is a digital option through the computer or phone, where you can send or receive a package with a courier to your home,” she said. “The lockers will be another option to collect a package at a time and place convenient to the customer.”
Kirshner-Goldberg said that the service will become available at several locations in the next few months, with deployment to be expanded soon thereafter.

She said the postal service “knows more or less what the demand areas are throughout the country and we will first act where we know that the demand is greater.”
Asked about the many complaints, especially about the company’s delivery services, Kirshner-Goldberg said that the company was taking steps to address them, including making many services digital.

As a multimedia journalist, my job is to take the quality, fact-based journalism produced by The Times of Israel newsroom and make it accessible across every platform — from Instagram posts to podcasts to short-form videos.
This is how many, especially young people, consume news these days. But misinformation is rampant on social media. Our team at ToI produces accurate, responsible short-form reporting on Israel and the Jewish world.
If you believe in the importance of factual social media journalism, please consider joining our reader support group, The Times of Israel Community. Your financial support is essential to sustain responsible multimedia reporting.
