Suspect targets Netanyahu’s private home in Caesarea during demonstration against construction of natural gas terminal

A 16-year-old was arrested on Friday after throwing a flare at the home of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Caesarea during a demonstration, police said.

There were no injuries and no damage was caused to the building, the prime minister’s private family home in the upscale coastal community.

Netanyahu was not home at the time and was travelling back to Israel from a week-long visit to the US.

The youth was taking part in a protest against the planned construction of a natural gas terminal off the coast of nearby Dor Beach.

Earlier several hundred protesters had marched along Route 4 from Zichron Ya’acov to Caesarea, disrupting traffic to protest the platform, which they claim will pollute one of the country’s most beautiful beaches.
