Toulouse attacker’s brother confirms second accomplice in shooting

Mohamed Merah had another accomplice besides his brother who helped him prepare for his shooting attacks in and around Toulouse, the brother, Abdelkader Merah said.
According to information obtained by Le Parisien newspaper, Abdelkader, who was arrested on suspicion of having helped his younger brother carry out the deadly shooting sprees, told the police that three men were together in a car on March 6 and stole the scooter that Mohamed Merah later used in one of the shootings.
Mohamed Merah was killed in a shootout with police a week ago, after a 32-hour standoff.
“He didn’t want to reveal the name of this person,” a law enforcement source said, “and he also didn’t give us any additional information that would allow us to identify or locate him.”
During his police interrogation, Abdelkader said that his 23-year-old brother got out of the car where the three men had been sitting, and stole a T-Max scooter.
Mohamed Merah killed three French soldiers, a rabbi and three young Jewish children in a series of attacks in and around Toulouse earlier this month.
On Tuesday, his father hired an Algerian lawyer to sue the French police’s special forces for killing his son.
