17-year-old arrested for making smoke grenades in his basement
Police find 20 grenades in home lab, believe the teen sold them to friends for $25 each

He is suspected of acquiring hazardous chemicals and using them to create grenades. Police discovered a makeshift laboratory in the boy’s home and found 20 grenades. They believe the boy sold them to his friends for about $25 (NIS 100) each.

The dangerous explosives are highly flammable, the police stated, and can cause severed limbs and severe burns. The teen was taken in for questioning and released, subject to police restrictions.
A Petah Tikva youth officer asked parents to supervise their children’s activities, given that such materials can be dangerous.
