Militants set off an explosive device near the Gaza border fence, and IDF forces discovered a small weapons cache near the West Bank city of Jenin Tuesday morning, the military said.

No injuries were reported in the explosion, which came several hours after rockets were fired from Gaza at Israel.

The weapons cache in the West Bank consisted of a military grade explosive device, an Uzi machine gun and ammunition, according to an IDF statement. Five people were arrested.

The activity came against the backdrop of increasing rocket fire out of the Gaza Strip.

Officials have also expressed concern over an uptick of violence in the West Bank.
