Minor earthquake rattles Israel

An earthquake shook the country just before 10 p.m. Friday night and was felt by residents of central and northern Israel. No injuries or damage were reported.
The epicenter of the 5.3 magnitude quake was located off the Cypriot coast at a depth of 19 km.
Hundreds of residents of Israel’s coastal cities telephoned the police, alarmed by the tremors.
