Former Netanyahu senior aide grilled on ‘range of offenses’

A former senior staffer of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was grilled by police under caution on Monday “for a range of offenses” before being released to house arrest, police said.
The official’s name has not been released, but a police statement said the former aide is suspected of criminal conflict of interest, breach of trust and fraud while he was employed by the prime minister.
After his interrogation, the suspect was released to house arrest for a period of five days. Police also set financial restrictions on the suspect during that time.
A report on Channel 2 said the former aide worked for the prime minister until about a year ago, at which point he began to work for the elections campaign of Netanyahu’s Likud party.
