Four Palestinians were killed early Wednesday morning in a collision between two cars on Route 60, outside the settlement of Otniel in the southern West Bank.
Another man was moderately injured and evacuated by the Red Crescent. Magen David Adom and IDF medical teams worked alongside Red Crescent paramedics to treat them.
One the cars involved in the crash was a European Union vehicle.
An initial investigation found that one of the vehicles hit a porcupine in the road and swerved into oncoming traffic.

MDA paramedic Eli Rosenberg said that emergency teams found three people trapped inside one of the vehicles. An IDF medical team, together with MDA and Red Crescent paramedics tried to treat the occupants while they were still inside but two died shortly afterward.
Two others were declared dead at the scene.
On Tuesday night, a 15-year-old Israeli boy was killed and another, aged 19, was seriously injured in a crash as they rode together on an electric bike at the Sha’ariya Junction, in the Israeli town of Petah Tikva. An initial investigation found the two cyclists rode through a red light and were hit by a car coming through the junction.
