A 5-year-old boy is in a critical condition and two men were moderately and lightly injured in a shooting Saturday evening on Mahrozet Street in Jaffa.

The boy suffered a head injury and one of the men received a leg injury. The lightly injured man was said to be a relative of the child.

The three were treated at nearby Wolfson Medical Center in Holon before the boy was later transferred to Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv for specialist treatment in the neurology department.

Police have opened an investigation into the shooting, and Hebrew media report that it is suspected to be part of a wider conflict between criminals.
