Britain’s Jewish News, the dynamic publication that has rapidly become the most-read Jewish newspaper in the UK, is The Times of Israel’s latest local partner, the two titles announced.

The Jewish News’s sparkling new website — tailored to showcase its vibrant reported content, and featuring a Blogs platform, Weekly Edition newsletter, and numerous other elements that have helped give The Times of Israel widespread and growing resonance — launched on Thursday.

The Times of Israel will promote the Jewish News’s content among readers in the UK via its homepage and other pages, ensuring high resonance and visibility for the Jewish News’s articles.

Jewish News editor Richard Ferrer said: “This exciting partnership firmly establishes Jewish News as the UK’s biggest Jewish media brand.

Said Times of Israel editor David Horovitz: “As an ex-Londoner, I’m particularly delighted that the Jewish News has become our local partner for the UK. Meeting with their young, smart editorial team, led by editor Richard Ferrer, at their offices a few weeks ago, I quickly saw how it is that the Jewish News has become such an essential read. Its writers and editors are dedicated, curious and skilled — a winning combination in journalism. I’m pleased that our partnership will help ensure their work is widely read online, complementing their weekly print edition.”

After four years of continued growth, The Times of Israel currently has some 20 million monthly page views; it publishes in French, Arabic, Chinese and Persian as well as English; it has more than 150,000 daily email subscribers and over 5,000 bloggers. By presenting Jewish world issues to local readers and local news to international readers via the local partnerships, said Horovitz, “we aim to appeal to more readers, with more engaging content, on both sides of the partnership — more readers to our local partners and more readers to The Times of Israel.”

About Times of Israel Local

Publishers joining the Times of Israel Local initiative get a very reader-friendly digital platform, carefully tailored to their needs on the basis of a digital strategy developed by The Times of Israel in cooperation with RGB Media, the innovative Israeli firm that built and constantly upgrades The Times of Israel’s website.

Like the London Jewish News, New York Jewish Week (whose new site is set to go live later this year) and the New Jersey Jewish Standard, future local partners will get access to all the tools and methodologies that have proven crucial to The Times of Israel’s quality and success: a blog platform to host the most vibrant marketplace of ideas; a daily or weekly email that gradually gathers a community of readers; Salamandra, the unique software that enables editors to shape their website and newsletters according to the content rather than forcing content into a predesigned shape; Spotlight, a state of the art advertorial platform; and much more.

In time, the aim is also to utilize the local journalistic partnerships to combine forces — with local newsrooms working together on stories of global interest, to be published together. The result: better journalism for readers of all the partnered titles.

Perhaps most importantly, the local partners will be getting increased visibility. The Jewish Standard, which became the first Times of Israel Local partner last summer, has seen its Internet presence increase dramatically, to some 500,000 page views in recent months, and rising.
