A combat soldier was hit in the neck by shrapnel on Monday evening during an apparent training accident in southern Israel.
The soldier was taken to Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba in moderate condition, according to the Israel Defense Forces.
He was wounded during a training exercise at the Tze’elim military base.
Apparently, a separate unit was training in the same area at the same time, leading to the accident, the Ynet news site reported.
The army said it has launched an investigation into the incident.
